    I think it is post war as west and east markings (as far as i am aware) were not added till after WW2, but an owner swear it is period.

      So, "A" doesn`t stand for Azimuth but means late war model suitable for cold climate?
      Could it be that "A" stands for "Arktik"? Like found on may german radios sets, Ark?
