    Hi,

I know you guys already post a lot of your stuff, but to make it easier to view you might post it here..
It's not a discussion thread, but to show what kinda stuff they used.

So,what textbook, used, mint, nice, odd, weird, rare or un-identified German army equipment do you've ?

          Pinned thread about Heer equipement

Great idea! I'm somewhat suprised this thread doesn't get more attention. Please start posting your kit guys!

Here's a neat piece out of my collection.

It's in fact an italian Regio Esercito's pouch for field dressings re-used by german medics (by adding the text "verbandtasche"). Still one of my favourite items I must say. If this pouch could only speak!

          Cheers

This thread isn't exactly running like I had in mind..
Don't know the reason, but I'll soon " un-stick " it to let it run like the other common threads..
Pity.., but apparantly no need to have such thread..
I thought it would be a good thing to have one for Luftwaffe, Heer and maybe Navy..., but participation is less, so no need to have it on top.

              Jos !!!!

this thread kina didnt workj as planned I think - so how about pinning this one: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ove+field+gear

its a old firld gear thread with tons of reference... - insted of making new one.. why not pinning this one ???

You're correct in a way Mike.

But maybe the old thread in question needs some cleaning up before getting pinned...Some members who posted in the old thread aren't really active anymore and therefore several posts have been deleted/edited.

I definatly would like to see the old thread pinned, if the mods can 'clean it up'?

                Cheers

                    Hello all,

i think some form of focus is required for a "pinned" thread.

If a span of time could be set for the posting of specific items (for example a couple of days to for members to post early and late k98 pouches etc) and then the thread could move onto waterbottles in a similar vein then i think that would make sense?

This way items are grouped together in a simple "block" format instead of being spread over very distant pages with no context to each other....

Despite the fact i no longer collect German items and have sold off most of my collection, virtually all my fieldgear still remains in a twist of fate.

If we can agree on where to go next topic-wise i am sure i could dig the stuff out.

                    Patrick.

I think this thread is a good idea. I also think it is a good idea to post a different field gear item every few days. That way this could be a great reference thread. I love Tornisters. I will post some of mine, I would love to see other members share some of these also. Then maybe next week someone else can suggest a different item to focus on. I have a lot of basic field gear items and would be happy to share them here. The first one I will share has been on this forum before. It is marked Graf Leipzig 1942 and has straps made from recycled Czech military equipment.

With the exception of the Czech straps, this one is textbook in every way.

Maker mark and a mid-war date. This is the M34 Tornister.

Here is a view of the perforations on these Czech military shoulder straps that were re-worked as Tornister straps.
