    Very rare luftwaffe breast eagle

Very rarte Luftwaffe breast eagle. From the George Peterson collection. I be.lieve it is for one of the summer flight suites. Which suit do members think this matches to?

Gorgeous example, likely for the Mediterranean summer flight jacket

I take it this would be a private purchase eagle. Horrible looking bird I would not want this on my flight suit. Just a plain inlisted or officers bullion eagle looks fine not this monster. Having said that you do see some really odd ball eagles. Maybe for an early flight suit, experimental.

Great looking bird, from the neck down, that is!

Being 1st. model drop tail eagle I would associate this eagle to summer overalls.
Rare, surely were not approved for regulation.
George Petersen used to not have junk in his collection; I like it.

Yes, nice private purchase eagle for the summer flight suit. So many of the early droop tail private purchase ones have the same akward look.

Speaking of GP, I just saw him on Saturday when he was in town.

Great looking eagles, all of them
Even though they are unusual looking.
