It is a shame that this thread has become almost completely useless since Photobucket took everyone's pictures hostage. But here is a quick view of my 8,cm mortar before I attempt any type of repaint restoration.

These are 5,cm, not 8, but still they are mortars.

Very very nice. Thanks for posting.
Yes, Photobucket literally killed millions of imageposts all over the internet overnight.
But there is a facebookgroup dedicated to s.Gr.W.34. Lots of nice images and information there:

                  Hi guys!

I've bought this 8cm tube a year ago. i have some free time now, so made plans for the restoration. Someone applied new black paint, so had to remove it. But, underneath the black paint i found some numbers. The numbers are 2(z?) 1 7 6 .

                  Any clue about those numbers?

Also, im still looking for the legs. So if anyone knows a place , let me know!

                  Thanks!

Remi-ngton10 - Tube is from russian 82mm mortar captured by wehrmacht (bsu = Guettler & Comp., Maschinenfabrik, Brieg Bez. Dresden)

And maybe is the opposite case, ........... russian acceptance marks on captured german mortar.... for museum purposes perhaps.

                          Hello,

                          to clarify this correctly.

The Mortar shown on the photos comes from Bulgaria and is now offered by Zib-Militaria (German militari dealer).

The Mortar (bipod, base plate, tube and optical sight) are „in basic“ orig. german production before 1945.
The tube is as I write an orig. german production but was rebuilt / renewed by the Bulgarian army after 1945,
the renewed parts and areas are the extension which was attached on the muzzle (original muzzle ist lost) and the tube-soul were expanded from 81.4mm to 82.2mm.
Everywhere were added new serial numbers, basically the tube is completely destroyed and is no longer worth to be collected.

The tube extension was mounted by the Bulgarians to have a higher accuracy and range,
most of these Bulgarian Gr.W.34 are imported between 2013 and 2014 to Germany and other Western European countries.

                          regards
                          Loice

For comparison, here is a tube left in the original condition from the former military stocks of Norway. If anyone is interested, the tube will not longer stay in my collection.

                              Hello.
At the beginning I would like to thank everyone who shares their knowledge here.
Last year, I saw a ground plate sale offer, and I thought I would build it. Here she is ...
                              Does anyone recognize the manufacturer?

                              Regards Łukasz.

Nice base plate. Unfortunately I do not know who the manufacturer is. Does it say JGuS?
