    I would also note that the engraving looks to have been done over some of the scratches on the pitcher.

    Hello! I saw this item up for purchase and I'm somewhat intrigued. It's a kettle that bears the etching of Admiral Hipper over the word Kantine.

    I would like to run this artifact by the community since this forum has taught me to be a bit suspicious of German militaria. I'm not an expert on things like this. That being said, I don't think Admiral Hipper is really that famous of a Kreigsmarine warship, so maybe it could be authentic? What's throwing me off is the different font between the two etched words.

    I'll appreciate any help on this. Thanks! If you need better pictures, I can get you ones with better resolution. The words are quite bright, but here's a bigger version of it: https://i.imgur.com/LYmcPTB.jpg
