I picked this up from estate auction back in 2003. It belonged to the nephew of the vet, he was a well known author in the firearms world, R. L. Wilson, he wrote numerous books on colt pistols. I meet him several time in the 80’s and 90’s, family friend. I saw the helmet numerous times at his house in Lyme, CT on display in his house, in part of his library. He had some “legal and financial” issues in the early millennial. Went to an auction out that way and there was his helmet and numerous items from his office. Wish I got the whole story about the helmet, but he has since passed away. Just thought I’d show it off.
