        Impossible to prove if both belongend together since the war unless you found it yourself.

                  I agree net is good as well as small hooks. Not sure of the longer hooks.

                    I agree the net and "S" hooks are original, but am still torn on the long hooks. Over the weekend I looked at a couple of helmets with original hooks, and they didn't have those flattened tips. On one of my netted FJs the hook tips are not visible, so that was of no help.

                    I had looked at my extra set of long hooks when I first saw this thread, and they too do not have the flattened tips. Doesn't mean the ones in question are not original (because they do have a nice look). Actually it makes sense to have flattened tips as it would be easier to insert them between the shell and liner band.....just haven't seen them before.

                      I have come to believe that flattened tips and heavy wire is a good sign that the hooks are WW2. Post-war hooks looks similar but have round ends, and are slightly lighter gauge wire. That is not to say that all WW2 hooks must have flattened ends - anything is possible.


                      Personally I like the net and hooks on the helmet posted.
