How does this jacket get so much wear on the front edges and buttons, but none on the collar where it would have been folded? Looks like the aging was applied when the collar was laid flat. The collar would show the most wear on a worn garment. What is with the angle of the left side should strap loop and the button? You can see where the button was on the right side, with a similar odd angle. Overall you can see the wear from when it was a Zeltbahn.
Would like to see close-ups.
I have certainly see some era true field-made garments.

IMO a modern made from repro zeltbahn. Button holes stiching is typical modern type with horizontal lock ( you can find some of this type of button stiching in period made uniforms etc., but not too often ).
Still looking for LARGE SIZE M43 gabardine jacket and m43 gabardine cap ... maybe some day I will find it best regards Marcin
I've got a bad feeling about it also...the button holes, the stiching...Field made with that lining? I would think in factory made items. The general tailoring would suggest field made but the button holes and the lining don't match. I knew a Belgian guy in the Czech Rep. that would piece up uniforms from scratch, and even tailored new garments, as he had all he needed. He would sell as remade...or not. I could make one of those also

looking for a Kar 98k bolt in working condition numbered 2020, please let me know if you have one.
That lining seems strange to me. I have seen field made tunics that are lined including one that used a captured British battle dress tunic. But the material on that one just looks unusual. Change my vote to "no". Jim
That's a dud....reenactment grade...
I did not like the pocket and pocket flap
shape and now that the interior with odd
lining is revealed I am certain. Sorry
The pics help to seal its fate, not a period one. If you didn’t pay more than 100 bucks then probably not too bad of a deal. Originals do come up but are always controversial. Matt
I collect:Summer weight Heer tunics, early Schutzen and kradschutzen boards/tabs/tunics and last but not least Panzer Grenadier militaria!
