                  FrenchVolunteer,

I believe the one shown from France you posted is the one I should be reviving soon in the mail. The corner of the tapestry matches up I would say 99%. Due to the damage on the bottom corner by the golden fray. When asked to the seller the history of it, it was mentioned it too came from France.

The first two I saw were vet purchases in Seattle in the late 1960s made by long time dealer/collector Bob Joslin (deceased). He picked up one from an ex-pilot who, with another pilot, entered the RK while the Russians were still there. He put Bob in contact with his friend who also had brought one back. Bob picked up that one also. They were both in mint condition, very well done and very heavy. I didn't like the looks of the one on the Snyder site. Who is managing that site now??

If these photos do go through, you I'll see this is the same tapestry Vince posted. When I bought it I was told it came from a privet collection from France as well. The corner of the tapestry shows the identical wear as his posted.

It is also the same size of der-hase-fee posted Tapestry.

                        Hi,

                        yes, totally correct.

This is interesting because i learned that the one i had pictures of was sold only recently (another WAF member was interested in it, fortunately this member was able to pick up another one).

I haven't had mine out for a couple of years. Great photograph demontsrating the size of these pieces for other collectors to appreciate. It must have been an effort for you to hang it due to the weight of these tapestries.

Oldflags wanted, it would only fit a max 1/2 diameter pipe in the sewn loop hole. I had a copper water pipe left over that worked for the photo. I bought a 1" wooden pole from homedepot. That was too large.

It is alot heavier and larger then I thought. Where it was suspended from on the railing was 12 feet on the dot.

"French Volunteer" posted one from a collection from France. This is the one he posted. The corner damage mackes up 100% from his photos. Now located in the U.S. amazing detail amd craftsmanship.
