    MG42 sling canvas

        I believe webbing slings are not period. For sure used post war. Anyhow, you might like to read Reidar's article about them:

                I wanted not answer to fast because I want to check this before, I'm since 1980 by the Austrian Amry and I have never seen this kind of material by the slings, I asked in your barack the armorer and he said that he didnt know this kind of slings by the army.
                Design yes but not this kind of material.

                  Well, when the first ones hit the market some still showed austrian army markings, of course they were removed or blackened out when offers as "late wear german ones"...

                    I belive you, I said just what I know from the last 40 years by the army, I have had just seen 4 to 6 different MG and what the armorer said. Would be great if you could show us
                    one of the Austrian Army slings
