Standalone EK10

Hello,

I have the following components:

EK10
AR for EK10
VDE10
U10/E
UF10/E

I assume I can build a standalone setup for the EK10 from these components, but all cabling schemes I have seen include at least the SchK13, as additional component.

The 28v BB+/BB- is obvious. AE is for anode. E for Erd ? .
Antenna ? Should I use a 50 or 60 ohm cable ? Any wire antenna will fit ?
MBB ? That is 12v for RV12 tubes. Is that provided externally ? From which component ?

I know those are basic questions, but RTFM does not provide all answers

Half the valves are powered from -BB to MBB, the other half from MBB to +BB, so MBB will automatically end up roughly in the middle of the supply voltage. You could probably operate the receiver safely using 24-27 Volts, the two groups of valves will be in series and if a valve goes in one group it should not upset the balance too much but there is a small possibility that the failure of one valve can lead to an over voltage on the other valves which leads to a cascade effect of burned out valves. This is why they originally used a resistor bridge to control the MBB voltage. Normally these resistors are situated in the mounting frame of the RG10. You could also use a WK25 for this purpose.

E is indeed Erde. You can use almost anything as an antenna. In the aircraft the antenna was tuned via the AAG's, but for reception only you don't need bother with a tuned antenna.

One more question: AE- is not mentioned on the EK10 schema. Should I connect AE- from U10 to Epf pin ? Seems logical, but ....
