                I would say there is a connection between the makers.
                Please, note that this postwar "BAMBERGER" has also the word "LANDGRAF" added on it:

                  Thanks for that picture.
                  So mine must be the (pre)wartime variant then.

                  I did a google check on the city of Bamberg and the logo makes sense.
                  Look at the attached picture with a major landmark of the city of Bamberg. The four spires look remarkebly similar to both the wartime and the postwar logo

                  So bamberg it is for my cap, not Bremen.
