Black wound badge with provenance - shell splinter, Leningrad

    Hi,
These bits were given to me many years ago while I was overseas, from a friend in Germany who knows I collect militaria. It would be interesting to know what finally happened to him, the badge has seen a fair amount of wear and tear!
    cheers,
    Rick

Nice little grouping Rick. Nicely worn brass wound badge and cool note with it about the recipient.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

      Thanks Tom,

it's such a shame that all 3rd Reich awards were issued unnamed with no indication of the recipient in any way and unlike British/US medals they were actually worn in combat.. so having some provenance is worth it's weight in gold..
