Yes..I made a mistake and took this out of a book entitled "Glossary of German Terms and Abbreviations" printed my the war office in 1945......

Should have checked the internet...it's more up to date!

Don't want to sound like a smartass, but I think the official version is:

mit [der] Wahrnehmung der Geschäfte beauftragt

    Hi Ian,

Thank you very much for your answer. I mistakenly gave a wrong letter, but apparently you are too sharp to be mislead! Very interesting meaning though.

    Darren

    m.W.d.G.b

mit der Wahrung der Geschäfte beauftragt....

Basically means assigned to keep the business! Or somone perhaps with a lower rank than that required to be CO of a unit but has temporarily been given the position until either another person is found or he is promoted.

    Meaning of Title on Document

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me what these initials mean?:

    m.W.d.C.b

They are found beneath the position and rank title of a WMC document I have. This is stated as 'der Kommandierende General und Befehlshaber im Luftgau Norwegen'. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    regards,

    Darren
