      Hi Mike,
Cannot comment on the flak but the fleet badge is well known and common fake unfortunately.
      Cheers,
      Hubert

          Hi Mike,

As mentioned, this Fleet badge is one of an older series of fakes complete with fake maker marks. They are posted quite often to it's a good idea to show the whole series in one thread for future reference.

First, the "R.S.&S." Fleet badge like yours.

These were popping up so often that WAF member Earl Miller, back in 2007, subjected the CA badge to X-ray fluorescence elemental analysis, proving that they were made of modern cartridge brass, not Tombak.

They were also paired in the past with fake packets -- a pretty elaborate deception.

...and the CA badge with same type of packet.

Although unproven, it's possible there's a generational link between this series of fakes and the "Cave Creek" line of fake Schwerin badges.

Another example of the fake R.S.&S. packet.

Here are two generations of fake U-Boat packets apparently from the same source with the same font but different iterations of "1939". Before the internet, junk like this could spread through shows and collections like wildfire -- the heyday for fakers.

                            Best regards,
                            ---Norm

                              Hi Mike,

The High Seas Fleet Badge is a well-known fake. But the Luftwaffe Flak Badge is an original in zinc by Gustav Brehmer of Markneukirchen.

                              Best regards,
                              Tom
