Where is Field Marshal's Von Brauchitsch's baton?

Hi all, I'm very curious about Walther von Brauchitsch's ceremonial baton, I'm originally from Egypt and found an article in a magazine from 1954 describing how the free officers found the baton in King Farouk's possessions and promised that it'll be auctioned soon.

Incredible items of unbelievable rarity were auctioned in the summer of 1954, mainly the stamps, coins, works of art, Gale etc .. but I couldn't find it in any of the auction books I have, do we know what happened to it? Article attached here

Did his family buy it back after the revolution?

They didn't have to buy it. In April 1978, the baton was returned to the field marshal's nephew Eberhard von Brauchitsch by the Egyptian government. It was accompanied by a letter from Anwar el Sadat, in which he wrote "As soon as I learned what great emotional value your family places in the marshal's baton and how important its return is to you, I decided to fulfil your wish, for it is only natural that you should want to keep it as a memento of your great ancestor, who was an outstanding German and a great soldier."

That's a great outcome, glad to hear that a foreign head of state actually did the right thing.I'd like to know how King Farouk wound up with it in the first place. When I went to Egypt in 1984 I found it amazing in what high regard the locals held the memory of the Wehrmacht and people like Rommel.

The baton was dismantled and not properly put together again.

It’s funny to see that almost every baton I’ve seen was opened and not put together correctly. I assume that everybody is looking for a treasure map inside the batons
              Looking for LAH related items.
