It's a period stein and a period lid.

The maker's mark is Marzi and Remy.

I haven't seen that stein style before for a Reservist stein.

At this time, they hadn't fully transitioned to adding swastikas to every stein, but the soldiers still had the ability to select the style they wanted.

Is the lid tight or loose?

There's a possibility that this lid (which is a good one) was put on the stein post-war to increase the value. That happens often.

For me, personally, unless you like the lid I would not pay much for this.

I would like to add that I didn't mean that all reservist steins ultimately had swastikas on them. However, the majority of them did from 1936/1937 on.

I wouldn’t say the lid is either tight or loose. Lid doesn’t swing open that easily.

                  Stein

The Coat of arms are for the city. Bayreuth city name is also on the lid.
So probably alright. Could be a civil Stein used, but there where probably no law against that :-).
