    12ss Hitlerjugend opinion, Normandy ?

    Hi guys,

I recently bought this soldbuch of an SS soldier. I have kind of a doubt he did the Normandy campaign. Maybe you could help me figure it out.

    Thank you

After being wounded in Russia he was released from the hospital at 23-4-1944. (Page 21).
After being released he was send to an SS Artillerie training unit.
At page 26 there’s an stamp of the Artillerie Trainings unit dated 1-7-1944.
At that time the 12th SS was already in combat for 3 weeks in Normandy.
I can’t read the last stamp at page 23 dated 12-9-1944.
At page 12a we can see that he was issues an new K98 rifle at 17-10-1944.
This can indicate that he lost his old in in combat or that he just arrived at his new Field unit; Art.Rgt.12th.
Imo this guy didn’t saw action in Normandy with the 12th SS Panzer Division.

I agree with Floris and Chen, seems he was still with his replacement /training unit during the battles in Normandy and didn't see the battles in Normandy.

What is his first name? I know the surname is Eichmann

Was he born in 1922 or 1923?

                Many thanks. Moni
