STRAIGHT 9 - is it worth having?

I read about the Straight 9 EK variation (please don’t tell me there is an EK1 of this too).

Is it actually worth having in a collection? What’s its value?

Is there a particular or who is the particular maker of this variant?

    Would appreciate your thoughts.

    Thank you!

    ***Looking for the following EK2s please: 2, 22, 75.***

    There is, also a Ek1.

The value of a EK2 straight nine, is about 15-1800 euro.
    Best regards Thomas.

Whoa! That’s an amazing price for an EK2!

      Who is the maker?

Still unknown at this stage. There are plenty of variants that call for a high price in addition to the straight 9. The prototype B for example.
L/12 frame stamped EK2 prices are huge too!

"Value" is one thing...."Price" is what people pay. Me personally, not in a million years for any EK2. But that's just me. So for me, no - not worth having one (and I like EKs).

But for the people who have to have 1 of everything, including whatever cross with the "3rd type" frame and Core "Type D" made by Wolfgang on Thursday swingshift, they'll pay a premium.

          best,

                I agree, worth the price.

                        Good point!

I think new collectors start off with wanting one of every variation. I myself don’t really care about the different core types. Maybe something unique (as per my taste) like a wartime Souval EK is nice to have. I don’t think any other maker made frames like his wartime EKs.

As for the others, well, I like Godet coz of name recall, haha, but I’m over that stage (thank God! And I didn’t go buying EKs left and right) of wanting to have one of each maker, variation, core type etc.
