Oh wow. Are they wartime frames or did Deschler make new frames after the war? I’m assuming the core is theirs too. I know very little about these.
Why is patience a virtue, why can't hurry the f*** up be a virtue.

Looking for a Souval RK KvK without swords (800 marked) and a 57er Luftschutz medal, 1st Class

          Hello,
thank you very much for your answers !

Indeed both iron crosses are Deschler examples.

I think the frames are leftover wartime pieces.

          best regards

A very hard to get and beautiful duo, Thomas.

Thanks to Jeff I have the EK2 version, but sadly the EK1 has eluded me for years now.

            Regards,
            Nick

There was a very interesting thread in the crosses section dealing with Deschler EK's from early wartime to 57er....
It looked at the flaws and how they changed over time......
"Deschler theory" I think it was called....check it out....!!!

                Hello Nigel,
I know that thread, but it doesn't give an answer to the question "frame wartime leftover or not" from my perspective.

My frame has all the flaws, that should also be on a late wartime Deschler or perhaps on an afterwar production .

                best regards

You are right, I don't think it is possible to be 100 % sure when the frames on the 57 Deschler EK's were produced??
If the frame die used to make the late war crosses had already developed all the flaws we see on the 57 version, then its difficult, if not impossible to say for sure, wether the 57 EK frame is a wartime leftover, or a new 57 strike from the same die!!
