    Japanese Flag with Korean Markings

    Hello Everyone,
I pick up this flag from a local show over this weekend. Would anyone be able to translate it or have any more info on it?

Also, I was wondering if those stains are blood or something else?

Hello, this is my assessment of your flag:
I think the writing on your flag is not Korean, but gibberish. I can see why you would think Korean, as it sort of has that look. I think this was done during the period by an American GI, for trade. Maybe he traded it for a bottle of whiskey, and added a cool capture story. This was often done. There is a type of flag out there known as "seabee flags", and I don't think this is one of those. Those were pretty well made, sometimes with actual Japanese Kanji, most often not in the correct context. The staining appears to be possibly oil or other substance, not really sure what, but may have been added to enhance the flag.

Thank you for replying, I was looking at the flag again and seen names written in pencil on as well. Sad to hear that it wasn't what it appeared to be. Thanks again.
