1969 A7 Corsair vertical stabilizer Vietnam

Hi, I hope this counts. I was gifted this vertical stabilizer/tail recently while taking apart a 1969 A7 Corsair for transport. It is the original tail piece and the aircraft did two combat tours aboard the USS Midway and the USS Oriskany 1970-72. First as a member of the Champions CVW-5 and then with the Barn Owls CVW 19. It eventually was converted to a two seat and was used in training. The final tail code is for the Pacific Missile Test Center at Point Mugu. The current tail piece is a replacement with the aircraft and mine is the original. This aircraft had 100+ combat carrier missions mostly over North Vietnam. Best, Bill Bourque

Hello, thank you. It was kind of hard work for an old guy like me. The tool sockets were like coffee cups and the wrenches like small baseball bats. Still it was worth it, curled up in the exhaust nozzle and all. Best, Bill
