    1° Groupe d'Artillerie Antiaérienne Coloniale d'Extrême-Orient

    Hello

Has anyone on the forum details on 1° Groupe d'Artillerie Antiaérienne Coloniale d'Extrême-Orient (1 GAACEO), and how they were organized in French Indochina in 1950 -1955.
The part of the squad that was in the Dien Bien Phu battle 1953-54 under the command of Lieutenant Paul Redon which group / part was that of 1 GAACEO ?
Does anyone know if there is any literature or website with information about 1 GAACEO.

    Thanks in advance
    Bjorn

    1° Groupe d'Artillerie Antiaérienne Coloniale d'Extrême-Orient

    Hi
These two documents are the reasons for my question above. It would be interesting to know if the Canonnier 2 classe Jean Doncarli was one of the soldiers who manned one of the four M45 Quad Mount that was used during the Battle of Dien Bien Phu. I visited the DBP in October 2013 and these photos show what is left of one of the four M45 Quad Mount.
I am very grateful for information if anyone can help me.

    Thanks in Advance

    Björn

great story! and pics. It's pretty cool, it looks like Salan signed off on the top document. He became C in C Indochina in 52.
