    FJ 1849 Cross

    Hello,

I just got this one and was wondering what it was...I found it at a show and the price was right and I thought it was pretty so I bought it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,
    Chris G.

    Chris,
It is an Austro-Hungarian Gold Merit Cross 2nd class. It looks like it has the manufacturers marking on the ring.

Yes, Gold Merit Cross, a later version of gilded bronze (has star mark), possibly from the WW1 periodI can not read the manufacturer, but the most common were Wilh. Kunz, Wien X and V.Meyers Sohne, Wien.

      greetings

I'd like to see better pics of the markings.
