German federal republic prototype anti-aircraft medal

As you can see, the rim and the edge of the medal are a darker colour than the two faces of the medal. Sort of a gun metal blue. The medal itself is made of some gold coloured material but I have no idea what the actual material is.

Gentlemen,

Here are some close up pictures of the measurements of one of these medals. The width of the medal is actually 2.84mm. The picture showed that my digital calipers were not situated exactly where they should have been to make an accurate measurement so I took an second width measurement.

These are rare. For some reason they decided to go with the "sleeve" type badge instead on this type. IMO it's design was "too" much of a change from war time type. YET, I have never seen a sleeve type I thought was any good. Tom
