I may put this on e-stand soon. Not in my collecting sphere. Please feel free to give me some advice on value. Thanks. Richard.

      Sturgis,

Comparing your cap to a similar one that I have, yours probably dates from end of the 60s to early 70s, This estimate is based on two things. The design of the Alkero makings on the sweat shield and the visor appears to be made from fibre instead of plastic. Alkero seems to have moved to plastic visors in the late 70s. That is just a guess though from reviewing the caps in my collection. Hard to say what your cap would sell for. I pay about 15 to 20 euros for caps like the one pictured in your thread.
I should mention that my schutzen cap is probably earlier than yours.

      Regards,

      Gordon

So I massively over paid for mine then! Not worth the effort of selling on!

            Richard,

I probably have more contacts in Europe to buy this type of item and my cost is most likely lower then some would pay. I took a quick partial troll through ebay.de and didn't find any visors for sale. Here is the link to where I looked. Perhaps if you review what is being sold in Germany in this line you will be able to get a better idea of what you visor might sell for.

            Regards,

            Gordon

This is supposed to be a TR "Landwacht" visor (never existed).
IMO, it is a BRD visor with a Landwacht eagle attached postwar.

Any ideas on what it was originally for?
