      Kees, thanks--I didn't see that one coming. It is being sold on Ebay as a BRD Army hat. Alkero must be doing quite a business in both Germany and internationally--they are the only maker left.

        Stone;
        ISKO made these as well.
        This cap was posted in an auction today wich I came across.
        Probably he will not get any bids.
        Almost impossible to sell these caps in Holland,unless dated before 1960 or so.
        The earlier the better.

            This one is WH Infantry in style, but the band is too light.
            In any event, it is definitely BRD. Anyone know what org?

              Stone,
              the last one seems to be made in Paderborn ?
              It's not a Heinrichsdorff is it ?
              It does resembles the one in post 4 a bit;
              http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=587061
              Or a TV or movie WH fake ?
              I think 75 % of all unknown West German visors fit in the category Sch├╝tzen Verein or musical,like marchingbands and such.
              Add the public transport sector to that and most unknown are covered.
              Here's an unmarked one with original fixed badges.
              Without the badges on it would be condemned to stay on the mystery pile for ever.

                A band visor with the same latex-like top as some polizei ones.
                Black wool cap band.
                No maker ,however with the former owners name in it that starts with Eva Maria.
                A divine piece of headgear.

                  Kees, missed your earlier post. Agree, many can just be for civilian marching-band organization.

                    This one is on Ebay. IMO, it is early BRD, given the "rubberized" top lining:

                          Schutzenbund Officer

                          I got this today. I understand its Schutzenbund and a higher rank of some kind. I have looked for all the shooting association caps I can find and have found no other caps with the silver banding (or any other branch for that matter), what would the band signify ? Can this be dated at all ?

                              Richard,

                              Nice looking cap. I have never seen one with a silver band around it before. This is probably something specific to a certain schutenverein. The band would probably signal some kind of rank within that organization. Each one seems to make their own rules for uniforms, ranks etc. Usually rank is only shown on the shoulder boards. You might be able to get an estimate of the date of the cap with a better picture of the makers name. It appears to be a Perkuro cap and they changed their logo and what they put on the sweat shield a few times since the end of WWII.

                              Regards,

                              Gordon
