    a special MKII helmet

    Hi to all,

Here is a MKII helmet just found this morning on a flea market for 25 eur ...
It is mint and has 2 particulaties :
    - a leather liner with yellow rubber circle. It is a FFL 1942 dated. I assume that's an early one ( FFL made liner from 1942 to 1945 )
    - a sand textured camo. A red patch is probably under the camo.
I assume it's an aussie. Are you ok with that ?
    I hope you'll appreciate.
    Regards.

          Hi thanks for answers,
The sand textured is often australian isn'it ?
About the liner, why replace post war a quality liner on a MKII helmet as the new MKIII is in use ???? I assume more an officer replacement.

Not often Australian , it could be British as well.
It’s just a great helmet but interestingly found in Europe by yourself

            Kind regards Chay

'seen a LOT of MkII helmet liners in my time...'not come across this one. Obviously an original FFL 42 dated frame....but with an odd oval solid pad (hence the Aussie refs I guess)....but the leather/liner frame red stitching looks like it was added later....but hey, what do we know.....
