Mercantile Marine and Portuguese Life Saving Medal

These two came from a local house clearance the other day, Cardiff, usually i only check WGC . There is one W. Jenkins that was lost at sea in 1917 and im not sure its my man but i found the Life saving medal of interest as i belive it dates from the period and it would be interesting if this individual was awarded it. Im sure that might never be know but would any member have access to any info on our gent
    Full name on medal is.....William.T.G.Jenkins

Those are both pretty uncommon. Nice catch.

Thanks Gary Just found out he survived the turmoil of WW1 only to have lost his life on a Cardiff ship called the SS HAWKINGE July 1941, sunk by U203. It would appear he was in and out of Lisbon quite often so the Portugal medal might make sense
