    Wurster Pab - Clean or not?

    Could I please have some advice on if I should try & remove the stains on the back of the badge - Or just leave as it is. kind regards & happy Xmas Gary

        Wipe it down with petroleum jelly, (Vaseline), and Q-Tips. Wait 24 hours and remove as much Vaseline as you possibly can with a soft cloth and Q-Tips.

          Being that the badge is brass/bronze/tombac, you can't use anything caustic or you'll change the color of the finish. Coin dealers soak ancient bronze/copper coins in virgin olive oil which will remove the verdigris without changing it's natural patina. It has to be a good olive oil though. Just let it soak for a week or so and then use a medium bristle toothbrush to brush it down and it should clean it up.
