General question on LW badge costs

Hello,

Please forgive my ignorance. Hopefully I am not committing a massive faux paus by asking, but I had a rather broad and general question.

My collecting interests are in US aviation badges, especially civilian pilot instructors. In the back of my mind has been the idea of one day buying a LW pilot and/or pilot/observer badge--an idea which has been rather stunted due to the large number of fake LW badges (I have been lurking on your guy's threads--and must say I am super duper impressed with the knowledge present in this forum).

My question: What is the approximate range in prices for afor a good quality, hallmarked LW pilot and pilot/observer badges?

Since I know what I would say to someone who asked me this question who was actually looking to buy--A polite, "go do some reading and research on your own, you'll be happier in the long run"-- , however, it is just a general question from someone not in the field.

If you're looking to get 100% original pilot and pilot observer badges, don't overlook the late war pieces that although unmarked, are 100% genuine. There are soooo many pilot and pilot observer badges to choose from (maker, material, etc) that if you want honest, original, representative pieces, consider my advice. You can probably buy both a late war, unmarked pilot and pilot observer for roughly $1500 albeit not from a dealer.
