The wound badge question (with photo).

Hello.

Please take a look of this wound badge. It seems to be a gold one - but the badge is hollow back like the black one. I learned that hollow backed gold WB existed (late war production) but have never seen no one

The question: is this badge a real Gold with hollow back or just "upgraded" black one ?

The photo can't help me out to tell you my opinion,try to take a better one.
With reservation, the badge looking to be a good one,as for the finish i can't tell from this photo.Don't forget to show us and the back side of your badge as much as possible a close-up photo.
Many times around the hinge and the catch the old finish remained there, so if someone upgrade this badge you can see traces of the old finish.
