I personally would need a better explanation. Yes, I can see the ribbon you have posted, Dave but I cannot see how you have made a call based on the first photo provided, unless you have assumed that because it came with a '57 Rk that it is automatically post war ribbon?

The ribbon looks to 'modern' to me. Okay, not talking about the minty ones like Mike's(see his collection thread)

I think I would have been better not to tell from the beginning that the ribbon came with a 57er KC. That might affect the opinions about the ribbon.

I took 2 more photos, but with different light. It´s both time the same ribbon, but it looks different because of the light. Both were made throug a magnifying glass.

... you should not ignore how a flash light can change the view of an item

Rich drag it on to the desktop and enlarge the image...look at the edge and you will see a complete lack of symmetry!

Don't get drunk because you won't see the difference anymore between wartime and '57 ribbons!

Dave, I really accept your knowledge, but if this "lack of symmetry" as you call it, is the only difference between the ribbon I showed and a an original wartime ones, I think many collectors have to check their Ribbons.

In my Ribbons there are some pin holes and look what happens with the symmetry.

Please don´t understand me wrong Dave - I only want to absorb knowledge.
I do not know the difference and I want to learn.

I have the same pinholes in my '57. I'll check it right away.

Seems that we won´t find out if it´s wartime or postwar.

Really hard to tell. I'm not so sure that this theory is fully water tight. Ultimately hands-on inspection would be needed. With the different manufacturers I'm sure there must be variations and where variations exist, so do exceptions.

What about this one:
