Default Whereabouts of Peiper's medals?

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Jochen Peiper's Medals. Does his son or daughters have them. Were they destroyed in the fire at his home in France. Just curious. Thanks.

Thanks. I've seen the mapboard that he used during the Ardennes Offensive. That's in La Gleize Bel.

Gentlemen,

Well, the thread triggered my curiousity, too. Where did all the medals/decorations/uniforms gone to?

For example, Otto Weidinger oak leaves was torn when he surrendered, who has it? What abt Sepp Dietrich's decoration, I also understand that Feld Marschall Keitel and Jodl had their insigna torn apart by Col Andrus, then what happened to them? And of course, Goering's grand cross of the iron cross, who claimed them ( I was told that goering has more than 1 copy of the grand cross--is that true)
I guess there must be tons of fakes or fakers who claimed that he has Sepp/Rommel's kinght crossess, and is there any way to identify which decorations belong to whom, i mean, for example, does the cataloguing goes like this?
knight cross serial number 123456xx was awarded to so and so?

Thank you, guys

Hi

Peiper's awards documents (KC preliminray certificates, IAB, EK2 and or EK1) have seemingly survived to his house's fire since they are displayed in Agte's book covering his biography.

Does Peiper's son Hinnrich still live in NYC or has he returned to Germany to live. His son was I thought a attorney in NYC in the 1970's. Thanks.

Default Keitel

I had Keitels EK1 from the first world war it sold to the US in the last two months with his parade tunic and other provinance. There was nothing else but a glass case which once had his EK2 but that was missing.

I have Peipers EK2 and his black wound badge... for about EUR750 I may be willing to sell them. They were given to General Bader for safe keeping when Peiper went on trial and were amongst the things found in Baders trunks. They were in a padded envelope with a note saying "keep these for Jochen just in case they dont hang him".

I will post photos if they are of interest.

Hi rasputin.

Your question is very interesting. Did the Americans steal the medals they took from the POW or where the medals given to the POWs family.

Unfortunately it seems like there is no info on the medals whereabouts in this forum. Perhabs you should try one of the other forums where the members discuss medals. Perhabs the guys in "General Wehrmacht Awards Forum" can help.
Try: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=24.

Best of luck in your search.

Regards
Jules
