Yes, I, for one, have not seen a photo that clearly shows an ss man wearing that pattern. To the best of my knowledge only those photos have surfaced that show troops which can either not be identified or which are clearly Heer troops.

The jacket in Leibermuster that the Dr JF Borsarello had in his collection was found on a fleamarket in Latvia and he had said that he had seen some others with an SS Latvia shield on his sleeve !
He often thought that some SS foreign volunteers were the first to be dressed with this new uniform !

Was that Borsarello's set? I had some leave in 95 and went to visit him and he offered me his set for a very nominal price, biggest collecting mistake I ever made not buying it.

No, I sold them 1st the jacket in 1993 (it came from tscheck. republic), and some time later they found a piece of material, which they displayed with the jacket, folded like trousers.
Then in 1997 I found trousers at a german show, and they were happy to take them.

One of the volunteers who worked for the WTS was 16 in 1945, he remembered very well a complete company of foreign speaking SS-soldiers near Prag, all wearing that camo. Before the 1st piece surfaced, nobody had a clue what kind of camo it was, although he decribed it very well.

Thats the main reason while for me its still an SS-piece, also some fotos exist shoing other branches using it.

From what is known today it was supposed to be used by all ground forces, incl. the ss.

As for period photos/movie sequences, again, I have only ever seen Heer troops or troops that could not be identified wearing these.

Watched this documentary in the weekend and noticed the Leibermuster.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPD1crIKAhE

33:11 - 33:13.
Seems like they are surrendered normal Heer troops.

If anyone else have other pictures/movies with leibermuster in use it would be interesting to see.
