Hi all!

A friend just sent these pictures wondering what he just stumbled across..

I guess the "GL" could be "Luftwaffe General Ludftzeugmeister", but what is this and what was it used for?

Anyone?

Could it maybe be some kind of liquid used to produce smoke?

I think the GL are "Technisches Amt " and the sub ministry are E3 II.

The Liquid in container was approved by German organization of approval ,sub unit E3 II.

Sub unit E3 was probably enigine or Power unit.

I Guess i was lacquer or Paint, perhaps made for some engine stuff in Luftwaffe.

Best regards from Norway.

Post Fat container - Luftwaffe

Hello,

here is a whole bunch of pictures. They show different containers. All have the LW eagle embossed or printed. The tanks are of different sizes. For some it is even what's in there. In the barrel I would think there was lubricant (oil) or so in it. The drum has a capacity of 50 liters. With the smaller doses fat in it. In the two larger vessels also fat in it. Here the fat is bluish. The containers also have all different labels.

The container shown here is a stranger to me and this version I do not know. But according to the caption fits this to my two larger vessels. Maybe that's a fat container.

Unfortunately, I can not say what that means the label. But I would to say that it would go for air weapons parts and derivatives in the direction of lubricant.

Have a nice day.
Esau

Hallo,

Esau

Nice Pictures Esau, its probably the blue lubricant for Aircraft. This type was used on different Connection Points on different Aircrafts in Lufwaffe. This lubricant was described in a manual for Junker 52,they name it "Blau Schmiermittel".

Thank you very much for very good help ayf and Esau.

Impressing to see so much knowledge on such seldom found items.

I will inform the owner of the barrel of your information and I am sure he will be pleased.

Best regards
