I think you might want to either move this to the section on documents or the Bazaar. I'm pretty sure this might be one of the multitudes of copies out there. But thats just my opinion. Maybe other members have a differing opinion.Regards Jim

Hi Jim

Thanks for your input, I bought a copy and studied the forum for info and compared it to mine and I'm therefore quite sure that its original. I know that we shall allways evaluate the item not the story but this one I got for free from a elderly man (trusted friend of mine) together with two other 100% original paperitems concerning the danish SS Schalburg unit. I'm willing to send this to a expert for evaluation and cover all expences if a future buyer should be unhappy with this item. I also offer lifetime return on this.

Please make a post on why you think this is a copy.

Cheers Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The main reason I think its a copy is because the following manual was once discussed on the forum:

http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...knacker+Manual

It was found to be a copy. From what I can tell yours is identical.Jim

In that thread Erich stated that his "reproduction" is black/white inside. Can we see a couple of sample pages, Thomas?

Default Panzerknacker

Keep in mind that there seem to be two different versions being discussed on those threads. The one Thomas has listed here is the LW 220 version. This version does have some differences on the cover such as the "curved" lever, the different location of "Merkblatt...", and one or two other small details. Like Takira mentioned in one thread, I too have never seen an original example of the LW version. Since Wade has had several, perhaps an email to him may help in addition to pictures of the inside.

Hard to tell from the pics for sure, but Thomas' does appear to have the same coloring and texture as my original (non-LW version).

hi John,

There are indeed 2 versions of the manual currently being reprinted. I also think there are several different variations of each type that are out there. Some look brand new while others have been aged, show water damage etc.

Heres a cover from an original non LW version that was in a magazine dated 94, prior to the copies coming out.
