Help Identify optic mount?

I have no idea if this is was used for, or if it's WWII German? It came with a group of WWII items. I cannot find a three letter code only serial numbers. It's very heavy an appears to be made out of Brass. Can anybody Help identify this item? Thanks.. Johnny
