Default Hollow stamped EK's

Hi everyone,
over the time i came across just a very few of these, so i started to keep them. In the last 15 years i personaly saw just 3 of these hollow stamped EKs. The first one was an EK1 wich was the same as the depicted EK2, but without the Ring. The other two, you see them here.
Size are 42,60mm and 42,55mm, so a very normal size. Didnt weight them but they are very light since they are hollow stamped.

It has been said that these were for cavalry or someone riding. Since they are significantly lighter they will not bump around like a normal EK would. Also the "half" EK2 has this wire attachment soldered on the back wich could be used as faster to the uniform.
They also could be cheaper variants for those not able to afford a custom medal after sending the original medal home.
But these are only guesses i supose, i dont know a thing about these.
Someone can tell me something more relyable?
Has anyone more of these? Please post your pics.

Thanks
Ubisacco

ah, they have a quite crude apearance with this laquered finish.
That might be one reason why nobody seaam to collect them actively. They are not expensive at all.
