ok..not that i doubt the folks on here knowledge. But construction? Materials are leather and what 'looks' like prestoff, what am I missing? and ageing I can't tell artificial (again if folks could help say why this or that). The seller states its from old stock (nos new old stock). I am just trying to learn the signs of a copy/fake etc.

Don't get me wrong I do very much appreciate folks help and at the risk of sounding rude replys such as fake/copy etc don't really help!

If a reply said fake/copy and then explained why that would be beneficial to the original poster and any others researching similar items would it not?

How about this one from same seller? This is from same stock as the first one

this is his description:

First kind of spade carrying bag for straight entrenching tool.
The carrying bag is made of black alternate material with black leather carrying loops and brown leather belt.
The bag is stamped with: RBNr.: 0/1272/0002 !
Used carried on the belt with the spade pouch on the y-straps.
Guaranty for an original one.
Used condition - from old stock.

The first One is one of these High End Fakes which are near perfectly made to fool also advanced Collectors. It´s a natural Thing that, if you want to really fool someone with a faked Item, this One must be so good made that you will believe

These Copies are so Good, if they would be delivered to the Wehrmacht, the Warehouse Feldwebel would stock them into the Racks without any Doubts

The best advice to study known originals, of which many have been posted on the forum in the past. How else does one put into words what is wrong with the materials, contruction, and aging?

Where is the wear that a shovel would leave? If unissued, then why does the leather strap have the shape that it has been wrapped around a shovel?

2nd one looks better, but I wouldn't buy from that seller as if it was the last thing I needed for my collection.
This seller sells 99 % fake(d) or altered / aged stuff.....

Just to let you know.....
