You are, generally speaking, correct. However, since the S71/84 pattern scabbard was used on some S84/98aA I included this information detailing the differences in the style of the metal fittings to explain they did not belong on this KS98 style bayonet. BTW, some private purchase KS98 style bayonets did in fact have leather scabbards with scalloped fittings but these fittings are, generally speaking, incorrect for a KS98.
