Default Lehr Regiment Brandenburg z.b.V?

Gents,

Anyone know of a good book (if there is one?!) on Brandenburg units? Not just the Panzer Grenadier Division formed September 1944 but the unit through it's life as:

Bau-Lehr-Bataillon z. b. V. 800
Lehr-Regiment Brandenburg z. b. V. 800
Sondervervand Brandenburg (Verband 801-805)
Division Brandenburg (Regiment 1-4, Lehr Rgt. Brandenburg)
Panzer Grenadier Division Brandenburg

Cheers, Ian

Hello Ian and Gary.
Here is one:
Helmuth Spaeter
Die Brandenburger eine Deutsche Kommandotruppe
zbV 800
1978
ISBN 3-922128-00-9
543 pages. Illustrated
Traces the history from its inception.
As all books by RKT H.Spaeter, a former General Staff officer, appears well researched and is a good read.
I believe Kurowski also authored a book about the Brandenburger but I have no further info except a recollection.

Ian

You might like to find a copy of "The Brandenburgers - Global Mission" by Franz Kurowski.

Hello Ian.
The book by H.Spaeter is much detailed and describes operations down to company level . Perhaps not every operation but should prove satisfactory. I would not consider it a general work only.
