Sorry, do not feel not so confortable with both decals.

They are not there from the beginning .......maybe too suspicious

I also am not comfortable with the decals. They look very thick. The leather doesn't look to be original to the helmet or at least could have been removed/replaced.

The Heer decal is a Wilh Abels IMO.
Never seen one on a NS shell before, only ET and Q.......

Is the decals thick or is it just the laquer outline that makes it look that way?

More i look to the decals and more i do not like them....and the way they have been apllied ? reminds me the mint un-applied "Wilhem Abels" i saw for sale some month ago.

You are right for the liner, not the right location, the inner leather has been replaced.

Default M35 DD Heer

I think this helmet is interesting and a bit unusual. For one thing, are you sure the dome stamp is 1936 and not 1938? NS was late in the game and I did not even think they were making helmets in 1936. But if they were, perhaps that explains why the unexpected eagle - not the usual NS Heer eagle - is on this shell. I also agree with the concerns about the liner. With the seam on the side the leather has either been replaced or re-worked at some point as they did not come from the factory like this. Could have been wartime but more likely postwar done.

Still a nice helmet. My own opinion is that the decals are okay and were wartime applied. NS M35 DD's are my favorites I have to say.

Cheers,
Terry
