Thank you billbert! What you mean when say "never seen an HPC overseas"?
This sidecap was found in South Italy, you think is not believable?

Unfortunately there is not much to tell. The sidecap was found in a military port in Sicily, with a blue shirt.
Have you doubts about the stamp or about the sidecap? I should like to buy it but I'm not so expert and I don't know what to do.
I would not know after that it is a copy...

Thanks

The cap looks good.... the U-Boot insignia will always be questionable.

I am a bit skeptical. Here's my reasons. the stamp on the inside is very fresh; leading me to possibly believe that this might be an original but unworn example. Now, I see a tradition badge, possibly from a U-boat or other ship. This is affixed to a minty hat.
I am not experienced enough to comment on the originality of the hat. However, I am just sharing my suspicion that this might be a post put together hat. Most likely, with a post war fabrication of a U-boat insignia attached.

IMHO.

Regards,
JustinG
