Default Aluminium cased Assmann Pilot-Observer

The dreams come true - I was finally able to find a rare PO with the matching etui But before adding it to the collection I kindly ask for your opinions. I'm not feeling comfortable after all these "cleaned/refinished" stories...

Badge itself looks good, although I not know this variant, I usually see these with thinner DRGM and A stamp.

Very nice and I don't see any issues or signs of tampering.

Hi Alex,
I certainly understand your concern regarding all the recent discussion re: cleaning/refinishing etc.
You cased PO is stunning

Hi Alex,

Congratulations my friend, I think you made a great score with this one.

Like the others, I don't see anything at all wrong with the finish, especially the wreath. I like the wear pattern and the look of the scratched name on the back. Also the rivets look perfectly textbook, so I I don't see any sign of refinishing.

Case is excellent too.

And ofcourse an aluminum badge with no repairs is just the creme of the crop. If there is an Assmann PO to own, this would be it in my opinion. Well done.

Tom

Nice piece. Sometimes these are found with both a small A and large A next to the rivet

As far as I remember this version (with two A marks) is shown in Privitera's book)
