Default SS Totenkopf Banner question

Looking for a little help before i go look at a SS Totenkopf Dv Trumpet Banner this weekend. Will get some good pics to post at that time. What i need is any help on Value or what to expect to pay for a good Original one. I hate to go into something blind and i am finding nothing for referance. It is one sided with the fringe on bottom and Totenkopf Skull with Totenkopf Dv underneath the Skull. Any "Ballpark" price or rough idea would help. Seller is a friend who has had it for 30 years or more and he has not priced it as he wants to "Trade"

Thanks for the advice, I would surely never "Pull the Trigger" on something like that without it being checked out first, If memory serves me it is similer to the fake one shown but i do not believe it has that Silver border.

I owned this banner about 20 years ago and sold it at auction back in 1999.

Forgot to add, the totenkopf and script were of silver bullion wire that had turned cuppro/green. It's in a museum in Texas.

Would still like an idea of what an original would cost.

10k for an original totenkopf banner would be a steal.I would think an original would start at 25k today.

Hello wolfslair:
What was on the other side?
Do you have
a photo from 1999 to post of the other side?

It was single sided - the back was black silk from memory.
I do have photos but I've got to dig them up, it was a long time ago.

The photo of the TK banner at the begining of the thread looks to be a very poor quality copy of my old TK banner. Even the script is nearly the same - but of
poor quality.
I'm wishing I hadn't sold it - but...

wl:
Also not a fan of your sold TK banner either, based on
odd skull & bone layout, and use of "old english" font, etc.
