But I have to add, this one isn't USAF, but Army and a really cheap starting Price. It's also not the Awarded Insignia as this doesn't has the Holes for the Hangers. The drilled ones had to be privately purchased, I think you only got the Hangers Awarded. I have them up to 40 Years, but this one only for my Collection. I was told that there were only 2 Awards in the Berlin 6941st GdBn.

Thanks for your link to your on-line store. I am confused, a bit, about the hangers for the LSU badge.
1-First of all, the plain badge without holes was awarded/given for?
2-the five year hanger appears to be gold, 10 year hanger appears to be silver and the 15 year hanger appears to be silver. Perhaps the colours don't show up so well on the screen.
3-the hanger suspended from the badge with the 20 year award below it seems to be bronze?
3-are there hangers beyond 20 years.

I've attached some sample pictures from your site. The one on the viewers laft is what shows up for 5 years. The one on the right is what shows up for both the 10 and the 15 year awads. At least that is what it looks like on my screen.

I didn't found the Pic with the 15 Years Hanger, so that's the reason why you can't see it. From 15 on, they used 2 Hangers, that's the reason why you don't find brass Hangers with 4 Holes. The Basic Badge was given for 3 Years of Service. That's maybe the reason why the called it the "3 Jahres Dienstauszeichnung". The Nickname was the "Geduldsfliege". Berliners allway's found funny Names for everything in their life. Geduldsfliege mabe bacause you didn't had to do anything special but waiting for it.

While trying to price a WP uniform for a fellow collector I came across a badge for the Polish LSU. Here is what the vendor of the badge has to say about it and a picture of the badge.

POLAND POLISH WWII EXILE GUARDS BADGE, Silver gilt worn, superb enamelsm maker marked on reverse of badge with serial number,3602, very rare. Worn by former Polish soldiers released from stalags by American troops. The Polish Guards Corps was established to assist US forces in Europe guard US bases and materials quartersmaster depot on US Army and US Air Force bases. My uncle served in this corps and my former commander served as the last American OIC of the this group. The Poles learned English and marketable skills and eventually were given permanent residance in the US and became American citizens.

1 Said before, for 3 Years of Service
2 In the US Forces, silver is allway's higher than gold
3 It's silver
4 there are also Hangers with 25, 30, 35 and 40.
I have to find the Box, I never found out why I have some in Roman and
Arabic Numbers. I Remember a XXV

Thanks for the additional comments on the hangers. I didn't know that silver was higher than gold. Totally unexpected by me.
I hope you don't mind but I need to try this once more to make sure I understand the sequence of these badge and hangers.
1-pin with no holes three years service;
2-pin with holes and gold hanger 5 years service;
3-pin with holes and silver hanger 10 years service;
4-pin with holes and ? hanger 15 years service;
5-pin with holes and silver hanger with 20 year hanger, 20 years service;
and so one up to 40 years service.

the LSU site is back online.
tried to find some info on this ID card.
3RD inf.div. labor office.
date of issue 25 january 1946,expirered on 18 april 46.
I guess with such a short period the picture has been used for a new one.
very early post war ,hard to find info on it.

Interesting card but the bearer is not a member of the LSU so that is probably why you could not find any info on it there. He is employed by the U.S. Military Government (MG on the card).
