Finally, I got some uniforms!
After a year of wanting some DDR uniforms, I placed an order a little over a week ago for some stuff; namely a Grenztruppen Uffz. Auf Zeit and Luftstreitkräfte officer uniform. I thought the stuff would take a month to get here but...IT CAME LAST NIGHT!!!!! I don't have the service tunics as of now...I do have the Gesellschaft jacket for my Luftstreitkräfte uniform but it's still at the tailor to get the collar tabs attatched.
Here are the pictures, please tell me what you think!
The hats. I do love that saddle shape on the LSK hat! At first they look like common hats that are easy to come by...
Until you flip the hats upside down and see that the size they are in makes these hats rare and hard to come by!
I was told by Mr. Gowen that the Grenztruppen hat was the last one they had in size 60...I sure was lucky.
I also bought a white Hemdbluse for Ausgangsuniform.
Here are the pants, both in size m48.

Perhaps coincidentally, the LSK/LV pants were produced in the same year as the LSK officer's visor cap (1986)! I couldn't care less about that, but it's a nice little bonus. The wool trousers are pretty old though, they're marked "S" for 1975...Easily the second oldest item in my collection, following the 1972 dated gray Hemdbluse I have...
These are the insignia that I ordered for my uniforms.
And I bought this for no reason; I call it a "Bag O' Pips."
Have fun looking through the latest additions in my collection. If I'm in the mood, I'll post pictures of me wearing them. They fit perfectly.
By the way, the officer school badge and ribbon bar can be worn on a Hemdbluse right?

I know well that feeling of having a completed uniform in your collection
Nothing quite like it. Nothing of course except for throwing it all on and taking a picture or two

LOL, Funny you mention that, Wednesday I had all my clothes in the wash and had to go pay a payment on my car, With nothing else to wear I put on my VolksPolizei OberLeutenant uniform (minus the tie, visor hat,belt/holster, and tunic) and headed there, Not one person noticed anything diffrent about me or asked anything , I'm thinking..Hmmn. Is people so laid back they no longer ask what this stuff is when people wear it XD?
Then I headed over to my cousin's place, I was hoping to get pics but there wasn't enough light and he lives in a cramped one room house so not much space and it was too dark to take a pic of me wearing it outside

Paul Spain,
If I were you I would have worn the visor cap as well as the shoulderboards on the shirt. That would've turned some heads! But my reasoning behind it is...You're already wearing the pants and shirt, you might as well wear everything.
I might post pics of my uniforms in wear soon, but I cannot pick up my Gesellschaft jacket from the tailors until tommorow. At least it'll have the collar tabs attached once I pick it up. Once I do I'll post pics of my stuff in wear.
I was wondering, though...When I ordered my officer academy badge from Gowen they provided
two options, either a pin-on type or a screw-on type. I bought the pin-on because it was $2 less and would be easier to affix.
However, I recently realized that maybe the pin-on is for the Hemdbluse and for tunics I would need a screw-on type. My reasoning? Qualispange are meant to be worn on service tunics and are screw-on type badges.
Is my assumption correct? I want to know. I hope it isn't, though, because I don't want to have to buy another badge for wear on tunics.
And I almost forgot to thank you, Mr. Ralph Pickard, for complimenting my stuff. So, I will now. Thank you!

I DID have the shoulderboards on XD, I had everything on except the tunic, belt, gunholster, tie, and visor hat. I was wearing the green long sleeve shirt..It has the shoulderboards on it already, If I would have wore either the white or green short sleeve one I would have had to remove them and put them on there as the short sleeve shirts didn't come with shoulderboards attached.

Sorry for the wait guys, I promised pictures of me wearing my uniforms, so here they are. Is everything fitting the way it's supposed to?
First is me wearing my Grenztruppen Uffz. auf Zeit Ausgangsuniform-Sommer.

Now with the sleeves rolled up.
Second is me wearing my LuSK Oberleutnant Ausgangsuniform Sommer.
I had a picture of me wearing the gray shirt for Stabsdienstuniform sommer but deleted the picture as I forgot to adjust the straps inside the jackshirt in the picture so it looked bad.
Last is me wearing my LSK Oberleutnant Kleiner Gesellschaft uniform (which I feel like wearing to prom next year )
My only inaccuracies are my racial background, the presence of an iPhone, and my dress shirt in the
last photo; it's not an authentic NVA dress shirt because Gowen didn't have them available in size 40 or 41.

Genosse BowlofRice,
You have an understanding of Dress Regulations, (Genosse iannima has yet to complete his Report on your Footwear Norms).
If you play the Offz-Schüler rank gag, so Officer Orders of Dress are available to you and you can still be fully equipped with any NVA mot. Schützen Weapon Systems you wish as you see a problem with....

...but this can be cured as The DDR offered their Offz Academies to any Fraternal States from around the Progressive Nations of the world, a good Get out of jail card.....only in this case, incorrect use of Dress Regulations is still a separate matter.
Use of Inferior smart phones will be only be cured when Robotron release their "Klug funf Dora " Complex , if you remove the Shoulder Boards and Badges you can wear your white summer shirt under your Cultural Uniform.
Strength to your Arm.
Respect.

Reason: Failure of Genosse iannima's report to be forwarded to this Rezidency as to his dead line, the matter is under investigation.

Whoa, that's awesome! Trainer, where did you see this on sale? Funny thing is all those shirts in the picture would fit me.
And Viktor, I didn't know that the white jackshirt could be worn underneath the Gesellschaft uniform. I thought that the white dress shirt was the only shirt used for this order of dress...I haven't seen the use of the white jackshirt under the Gesellschaft uniform mentioned anywhere. Could you tell me more about this please?

You wouldn't Genosse BowlofRice, it would be covered by a jacket...
I could be done, and likely did happen, if you didn't have a Uniform shirt clean/available.
