Default Interesting photo of foreign volunteer

This photo is on Ebay at the moment. The description:

Quote:
What does everyone make of it?

Jason

This photo has certainly been published before, though i can't remember where i've seen it.

He's a member of oberstleutnant von Rentln's Cossack regiment. There's a picture of the same man on page.278 of Foreign legions of the third reich vol.4

It's not a TDB, it's the sleeve shield of Panzer-Abteilung F or such.

The Francoıs de Lannoy book 'Pannwitz Cossacks' mentions that this tank badge was given to members of the 6th Cossack Regiment who had distinguished themselves in combat against soviet tanks.
And the photo above is on page 52 of the same book.

am I wrong or in the postwar "Dirlewanger's" photo, Frithjof-Elmo Porsch was wearing something very similar to this tank badge?
