I have a bad feeling that this blouse is a converted 1949 pattern blouse. hence the pocket. Look at the lining to the internal pockets? Big colour difference. I think they they tried to make this look like a tailored wartime blouse, using pockets from wartime blouse.
Anyone else have the same feeling?
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Guys, just looking at this blouse once more I noticed that the number, written inside on the lining twice, which I would presume is meant to be a serial number (?) is 8 figures long and starts with 22; this is not a valid WW2 number.
Cheers, Ade.

This was added to the Denison Smock eBay auction Simon asked about :
"Additional Information for the benefit of all. Hans Van Der Velden has kindly added information that he has officer records for the battle and cannot see the Lieutenant listed on those records. Hans is bidding for the jacket and is helping with records he has."
Hmmm. Very helpful but if you were considering bidding on this you wouldn't exactly say that he was for sure at Arnhem, infact you would say the opposite!
I also wouldn't want my name put on the auction either! As it happens...I know who this is...

Hi Jack, I know Hans too. He has some great items. I would love to prise his Glider Pilots helmet out of him. I have bought one or two bits from him when I have been over to Arnhem.
You keep bidding on that smock; hold up a bit there are 8 days to go
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Ade,
Yes, he does have some wonderful gear!
You name it...he's got it!
I didn't know he had a Glider Pilots helmet but I know where a few are
A collector I sometimes keep in contact with down South has three of them in his own collection, all different
And a chap who goes along to the Birmingham fair has one that he bought from a junk shop a few years back for £40 - he told me at the last fair that it was worth about £250!!!! Hmmm... All I said after that was "Yes, that is about the price".
Thanks from Jack.

He can dream if he wants too A good Welbike will sell at around £5,000 to £8,000.
Many Welbikes would sold as surplus in the USA in the late 1940's/ early 1950's. Often the very good examples in collections have come from this scource.
Cheers, Ade.

The good conduct stripe should be the smaller red type or were they introduced later on during the war, this looks like an inverted lance-corporal's stripe.
